What is the Crowfoot Minor Hockey Association?

Crowfoot Minor Hockey Association provides the youth of Arbour Lake, Citadel, Dalhousie, Hawkwood, Hamptons, Ranchlands, Royal Oak and Rocky Ridge communities to participate in our program.

Crowfoot Hockey is made up of large group of concerned and dedicated volunteers. Our aim is to provide a program for all players to play at their skill level, build on the fundamentals of sportsmanship, game skills and fair play and above all, to have fun while doing so. Our desire is to be an Association that is approachable and open to positive change.

Crowfoot Hockey operates under Hockey Calgary, which in turn is governed by Hockey Alberta, and finally by Hockey Canada.

Things to Know

Crowfoot Hockey provides a hockey program for youths ages 5 to 18 years. :

Timbits age 5 and 6 Novice age 7 and 8 Atom age 9 and 10
PeeWee age 11 and 12 Bantam age 13 and 14 Midget - age 15 to 17

Crowfoot Hockey teams use other Arenas for their home games and practices due to the number of teams that comprise Crowfoot Hockey: Crowfoot, Shouldice, Henry Viney, Stu Hendry, Village Square, Murray Copot, Thorncliffe and Ernie Starr.

All players from the Novice and higher are evaluated and placed on teams of players with equivalent skills and abilities. It is never too late to take up the sport. Evaluations for the Novice, Atom and Pee Wee divisions will start normally the Tuesday after the September long weekend.

The hockey schedule for all divisions except for Timbits consists of approximately 2 ice times (games and practices) per week without consistency.

The teams are coached and managed by volunteers. Coaches are selected by the Crowfoot's Hockey Director and Coach Coordinator. Head and Assistant Coaches must be certified.

The Timbits Program will be scheduled for Saturday mornings and Wednesdays (3 out of 4), beginning later in September. This program will use the Crowfoot Arena facility. The Timbits Program follows the guidelines of the Flames Timbits Program. Players and are grouped in Junior and Senior teams.
